Removals from Nottinghamshire to France
France is the move we make most often out of the shire — close enough for a clean road run, far enough to need doing properly. From Nottinghamshire to a farmhouse in the Dordogne or a flat in Lyon, we carry the lot.
France has long been the first choice for people leaving Britain for a gentler pace, and Nottinghamshire sends its share every year. The pull is easy to understand — space, climate, food, and a country near enough that family can actually visit. The move itself, though, is a full international relocation: customs paperwork, a long drive, and a load packed to survive the journey.
We run removals from Nottinghamshire to France as one joined-up job. Your home is surveyed and packed here in the shire, inventoried for customs, loaded and driven down through the Channel crossing, and delivered to your new address — a village in rural France or an apartment in the city.

The route
Getting there
The France run is the most direct of our European routes — down through the Channel crossing and onto the French road network. Transit times depend on your destination, on customs clearance, and on whether the load is consolidated with others heading the same way. Your written quote sets out the route and an estimated window.
Paperwork
Customs & documentation
A move to France needs an inventory and the right customs documentation. If you are moving your main home, a Transfer of Residence (ToR) can allow your used household goods in without duty when the conditions are met — we prepare the paperwork we handle and talk you through the rest.

Moving to France — your questions
Can you move just part of a house to France?
Yes. Second-home and part-move jobs are common on the France route. We can consolidate your goods with other moves heading the same way, which suits smaller loads — it affects scheduling, and we’ll explain how it works for your move.
Which parts of France do you cover?
All of it, in practice — from Brittany and Normandy in the north to Provence and the south, and the rural south-west in between. Tell us the destination and we’ll plan the route.
